Volunteers from UnitedHealthcare assisted seniors celebrate the season through activities such as cookie decorating, card making, bingo and more.  Holiday gift baskets were also assembled at the party and distributed to local seniors in need of something special for the holidays!

Food Delivery to Seniors, St. Paul, Minn.

Volunteers from UnitedHealthcare delivered food to hungry seniors in the Twin Cities as part of UnitedHealthcare’s “Do Good. Live Well.” employee volunteer initiative. Each senior received a 40-pound box of non-perishable food items, collected through a UnitedHealthcare employee food drive held earlier in November in support of Second Harvest Heartland.

Food Drive, Minneapolis, Minn.

The Minnesota Vikings teamed up with UnitedHealthcare to host a food and fund drive to collect non-perishable food items for hungry Minnesotans. Fans who attended the Nov. 20 Vikings-Raiders game were greeted by volunteers from UnitedHealthcare who collected food and funds at all entrances to Mall of America Field prior to the game. Food and funds collected at the game were given to Second Harvest Heartland for distribution throughout its 59-county service area.

Food Packing Volunteer Event, Minnetonka, Minn.

Minnesota Vikings players, staff and more than 150 volunteers from UnitedHealthcare teamed up to assemble food boxes for hungry seniors in the Twin Cities. The food, collected through a food and fund drive at all 14 Twin Cities UnitedHealthcare offices, was used to support Second Harvest Heartland.

49ers Food Drive, San Francisco, Calif.

The San Francisco 49ers teamed up with UnitedHealthcare to host a food and fund drive to collect non-perishable food items for hungry residents of the Bay area. Fans who attended the Nov. 13 49ers game versus the Arizona Cardinals were greeted by volunteers from UnitedHealthcare who collected food and funds at all entrances to Candlestick Park before the game. Food and funds collected at the game were given to Sacred Heart Community Service for distribution in their service area.

Phone Bank for Senior Hunger , Minneapolis, Minn.

More than a dozen volunteers from UnitedHealthcare staffed a phone bank at WCCO Television (CBS – Minneapolis).  Volunteers answered questions from callers throughout the state of Minnesota about senior hunger and referred callers to local resources designed to prevent and put an end to the scourge of senior hunger.
