Team8 Tour - Jersey City

Team8 Tour – New Jersey

UnitedHealthcare’s “Do Good. Live Well.” employee volunteer initiative teamed up with CBS EcoMedia and The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation for the “Team8 Tour,” a series of volunteer projects and youth programs designed to help build character, teach critical life lessons and encourage healthy choices that will impact thousands of young people across the country. Our volunteers worked side by side with St. Anthony’s student-athletes, including members of their 2016 State Champion boys basketball team, to renovate the school’s weight room, and create new outdoor fitness and recreational areas, including nutrition education stations, outdoor basketball court and more. For over 50 years, St. Anthony’s has been committed to fostering an environment marked by academic and athletic excellence, with every graduate being accepted to college for the last 21 years. Led by St. Anthony’s President and Hall of Fame basketball Coach Bob Hurley, their boys basketball team has won 28 State Championships and 4 National Championships with 9 undefeated seasons. Despite that success, St. Anthony’s faces significant financial challenges with Coach Hurley behind recent efforts to raise enough money to keep St. Anthony’s doors open.
